Commonwealth is the first restaurant for Chef/Owner Steve “Nookie” Postal, a veteran chef of Fenway Park and other Boston institutions. Located in Boston’s vibrant Kendall Square, Commonwealth is a restaurant/market hybrid offering the best in local farm-to-table food.
Nookie’s long standing relationships with New England farmers, fishermen, cheesemongers and purveyors allow him to bring what’s freshest to the table, right now. Ingredients shine in simple execution and often served family style. A full bar features craft cocktails and local brews and vintages.
Designed by RODE Architects, Inc., the 6,500 square foot space brings a rustic feel to an otherwise tech-heavy neighborhood with reclaimed wood, vintage furniture like original school chairs and tables made of recycled shipping pallets. 134 seats are divided among the dining room, market, raw bar, bar and lounge, and private parties can be hosted at the 10-person chef’s table, PDR, roof deck or grassy area just outside. Opened in November 2013, Commonwealth restaurant and market is a neighborhood mainstay and dining destination, where good food can be enjoyed, plain and simple.
