As the oldest human services agency in the city of Cambridge, Cambridge Family and Children’s Service has a long and distinguished history of serving children, youth and families in the Greater Boston area. Beginning as a small orphanage 145 years ago CFCS is today an ever expanding multi service organization that annually serves more than 1600 individuals in over 100 Massachusetts communities. CFCS provides intervention to at-risk families; placement services for children and youth through its adoption, intensive foster care and residential programs; and services to children and adults with disabilities and their families.

Established in 2000, the Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that promotes the active use and vitality of the parklands, increases recreational opportunities, and works to ensure the beauty and integrity of this extraordinary resource.

 

The Conservancy successfully leverages funds and partnerships to make the parklands more active, attractive, and accessible for all. This includes advocating for cycling/pedestrian underpasses, building the Lynch Family Skatepark, organizing volunteer service events, hosting community river swims and working towards a Charles River Swim Park.
