The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard was founded to transform medicine with genomic knowledge. Its mission is to catalog all of biology at the molecular level, uncover the specific alterations that lead to human disease, and discover new and effective ways to modulate those alterations. To accomplish these ambitious goals, the Broad brings together scientific teams from across traditional institutional and disciplinary boundaries and empowers them with unprecedented technological and scientific resources.

The University Residential Communities LLC is an organization dedicated to the encouragement and development of housing in near universities, research and development centers. It seeks to create congenial residential environments to attract people who have an affinity for living in the exciting environment generated by Cambridge and Boston universities, medical centers, cultural institutions and scientific and innovation centers. It seeks to encourage the development of multi generational housing that uses the best of universal design and energy conservation features. It seeks to stimulate the development of residential communities that can contribute to the creation of a 24 / 7, year round, environment for those who wish to be part of a living, learning and innovation centered neighborhood. Established by nine MIT, Harvard, MGH and Cambridge residents it’ s primary mission is to sponsor or facilitate housing and related supportive facilities in the Kendall Square area.

Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research is a nonprofit research and educational institution. Wholly independent in its governance, finances and research programs, Whitehead shares a teaching affiliation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Whitehead brings together a small group of world-class biomedical researchers in a highly collaborative and supportive environment and empowers them to pursue the questions that engage them most.
